There's no commission built into it.
Most roofing companies pay a rep to sit at your table and close you. That rep takes a cut of the job, somewhere around 10 to 15%, and it's baked into the price you get handed. I don't have reps, so there's nothing to bake in.
I price the roofs myself off satellite imagery. Small crew, no call center, no door knockers. That's the whole trick, and the difference goes to you instead of a sales budget.
The number I text you is the number. It isn't an opening bid.

I pull your roof up, measure the square footage and the pitch, and text you a real number. Usually the same day. No appointment, no salesperson in your living room.
My crew installs it, usually in a day
Before we start, somebody gets on the roof to check the decking. If we find something satellite couldn't see, you hear about it before we touch anything. Most asphalt replacements run 6 to 10 hours, and we tarp the landscaping and magnet-sweep the yard before we leave.
The warranty actually gets used
Lifetime on materials, 5 years on my workmanship. I check in after the first big storm and after the first winter. If something looks wrong, I come back, because I installed it.

How much does a new roof cost in Joliet?
A typical asphalt shingle replacement runs $13,000 to $18,000 depending on square footage, pitch and which shingle you pick.

What exactly does the beat-any-quote guarantee cover?
Any written quote from a licensed, insured Illinois roofer for the same scope of work. You get 2 options in writing: the same system for less money, or a materially better system for the same money. You choose.
Same scope means same tear-off, same square footage, same warranty terms. If theirs leaves something out, I'll point at the line rather than pretend the 2 numbers match. And if I can't beat it, I'll say so.
How do you price a roof without coming out?
Satellite imagery. I pull up your roof, measure the square footage and pitch off the image, and price it from there.
Somebody still gets on the roof before we install, to check the decking underneath. If that turns up something the image couldn't show, you hear about it before any work starts.
Why text instead of filling out a form?
Because a form goes to a sales team and a text goes to me. Most roofing sites collect your number and hand it to a rep who chases you for a week.

How are you cheaper than the other guys?
No commissioned reps and no call center. A rep's cut is roughly 10 to 15% of the job and it's built into the quote you get handed.
